This can be a great way to let your children enjoy the day by giving
them a blown up balloons to play with in the garden.
What you need
Balloons
Space to play
What to do
Blow up lots of balloons for the children to use for throwing,
catching and kicking in the garden.
Balloons are so cheap to buy and
are a great way to begin teaching simple ball handling skills to
young children.
Balloons are softer and slower than balls, which
allows young children more time to catch them.
Sometimes younger
children are frightened of balls if they have been hit with one, and
playing with balloons can restore their confidence.
Some games to play with balloons are:
Balloon Volleyball
String up a rope between two trees or posts and hit the balloon over the rope as in volleyball.
Keep It Off the Ground
Play a game where the balloon is not allowed to touch the ground.
The other player gets a point if their opponent doesn't stop the
balloon from touching the ground in a designated area.
