Chalk Targets
This simple game can be fun and exciting as young children needs lots
of practice to improve their throwing skills. What you need
- Coloured chalk
- A wall that is suitable for throwing against
- Balls or beanbags
What to do
- Mark a large circle on a wall of the house.
- In the middle of the
circle mark a red target - use a saucer for the outline to make a
perfectly round circle.
- The red circle in the middle is the target.
- The children stand a few paces away.
- A hoop makes a good circle to
stand in or else mark it with the chalk.
- They score 10 or 20 points when they hit the bullseye and 5 or 10
points when they hit in the bigger circle.
- As they become more proficient with their aim they have to stand
further away.
- Make it more difficult for older children by making them stand
further away than the littlies!
- Give them some paper and pencils or let
them score on the concrete or pavers with the chalk; it will wash off
when they have finished.
