Build a strong family relationship by helping your children
understand family relationships. Making a family tree together can be
fun as you will be given a chance to spend quality time with them.
What you need
Memories (talk to grandma and grandpa, or older relatives)
Old family photos
What to do
Get a large sheet of cardboard and print in the names of your
family with your children.
Add dates of births, deaths and
marriages. Go back through as many generations as you know about.
Research together the ones you don't know by asking grandparents and
older relatives.
If possible add photos to your family tree.
Look for family
resemblances and compare clothes and hairstyles of today with those
of your ancestors.
Encourage your children to talk to their grandparents and
great grandparents about the 'golden days' so those memories are
not lost.
Perhaps all of this might inspire you to organise a family
reunion!
